A SERIES OF CAVES AND THE UNMISTAKABLE "SLICES OF BREAD", AT THE BASE OF "Nosculi" promontory, DELIGHT THE SIGHT AND THE SENSES. WE ARE IN CALA LUNA, ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES OF THE MEDITERRANEAN. A TWO HOURS STOP (1 HOUR FOR THOSE WHO VISIT THE BUE MARINO CAVE) WHERE YOU CAN ENJOY THE FIRST BATH OF THE DAY, EXPLORE THE COAST AND THE CODULA WHERE THE RIO ILUNE FLOWS. CALA LUNA IS A SEQUENCE OF NATURALISTIC SURPRISES THAT WE CHOOSE TO APPRECIATE IN THE MORNING, TO AVOID THE TYPICAL CROWD OF THE AFTERNOON.

The mild sailing

h 12:30

The trip to the Gulf of Orosei aboard the Pegaso resumes after the relaxing break in Cala Luna. The route is still south-east and includes a navigation under the coast that will give you a complete overview of the wildest stretch of the Gulf, between Cala Luna and Cala Sisine. Anthropomorphic and zoomorphic rocks, ravines and inlets created by nature will give space to your imagination, almost as if immersed in an outdoor reading of a fantastic novel. The Pegaso will enrich your experience by giving you stability in navigation for your photographs and the right relaxation in the shade of the decks.

Gita nel Golfo di Orosei - Piscine di Venere

Piscine di Venere

h 13:10

It is difficult to draw up a ranking of the most beautiful beaches of the Gulf.  Our sailing led us to enjoy the beaches of Cala Sisine and Cala Biriola. Just a few hundred meters from the latter opens up a water pool of amazing colors surrounded by limestone: we are talking about the Pools of Venus. The typical turquoise is created by the numerous freshwater springs which, mixing with the salt water, create particular light effects. This is the ideal time to visit the Piscine di Venere and admire this water's peculiarity of the Gulf of Orosei.

Gita nel Golfo di Orosei - Cala Mariolu

Cala Mariolu

h 13:30

We veer south to amaze you once again. At Goloritzè you will see the most beautiful scenery, the postcard one... the one that made you choose Sardinia and its east coast for your holidays. Now it's time to experience which one for us is the most beautiful beach in the Mediterranean. We reach Cala Mariolu when the sun still lingers over the high cliffs that overlook it. Welcome to the perfect beach. Here you will find the limestone grit that made you love Cala Gabbiani. A huge natural aquarium teeming with fish. A natural springboard for diving enthusiasts. A series of caves and sea beds where you can snorkel.

Cala Goloritzè

h 15:00

It is precisely when one thinks he has seen the most beautiful things that the Gulf of Orosei still manages to amaze. After the stop in Gabbiani we head towards the coast of Goloritzè. Its imposing spiers with Punta Caroddi towering over all, herald a unique scenario already a mile away. This is completed when you reach the beach with the majesty of the Golortizè rock arch, whose images are stolen to sponsor famous tourist destinations. We are in front of Cala Goloritzè. Words are not enough to describe the perfection that Mother Nature has given us all in a few hundred meters of coastline. We invite you to join us in order to give this unique spectacle to your sight.

Gita nel Golfo di Orosei - Cala dei Gabbiani

Cala dei Gabbiani

h 15:30

Before returning to the port we stop at Cala Sisine, a beach that develops on the slopes of Monte Plumare, whose cliff overlooking the water exceeds 400 meters. Cala Sisine is the end to the sea of the same-named stream which, retreating in the summer, leaves its dry bed available to bathers. The shoreline is mainly made up of pebbles and extends for two hundred meters inland, where there is a small restaurant bar. The stop in Sisine reveals the only negative note of the day: the fact that the trip is about to end. The time for a last look and we have to resume navigation towards the port of Cala Gonone, with the promise of returning to find these enchanting places. This is a typical day on the Pegaso motorboat.

The mini cruise aboard the Pegaso includes 3 stops on various beaches + a visit to the Grotte del Bue Marino (which is optional and possible on the first service that departs at 10:00am)

Take a look at the ”Mini cruise in the Gulf” section or scroll through our article describing ”A typical day on the Pegaso”

We have booked an excursion but the weather isn’t looking excellent. Can we change the date?

If you have already made your booking and you are unable to make it or have just had second thoughts, you can change the date of the excursion by letting us know the day before the excursion. In the event of a request for cancellation less than 7 days before departure, you would only lose the deposit for the booking paid at the time of booking, equal to 30% of the total ticket cost.

In case of adverse weather conditions at sea, will the outing proceed anyway?

In case of adverse weather conditions anticipated by the weather forecast, we will be sure to advise you on how you can move your reservation to the next available day. Should this be unsuitable for your requirements, you can opt to receive a full refund of your booking deposit.

How does lunch work?

Our packed lunches are available at the on-board bar and offer an ever-changing menu. As an alternative to the packed lunches, you can purchase food and drinks individually. We offer a series of hot and cold products, various types of sandwiches, and vegetarian and vegan products. A wide selection of drinks is also available. You can choose to eat your lunch aboard the boat or during one of the beach stops. At Cala Luna and Cala Mariolu, there are two refreshment points.

atmosferici e comunque sono a discrezione del comandante della Pegaso.

Are there bins on the beaches?

After our stop at the beach, we must not leave any sign that we have been there. Aboard the Pegaso, you will find an efficient rubbish sorting system which we will later dispose of properly once we have returned to port.

Is it cold in the caves? Can I do the tour in flip-flops?

The temperature in the Grotta del Bue Marino is around 16-18 degrees. We recommend that you wear a t-shirt, especially if you have just eaten, as there is a marked difference in temperature between inside and outside the cave, especially in August. The path is easy to walk and you can walk it in flip-flops. However, we would not recommend going barefoot

Can I bring my dog on the excursion?

Your four-legged friends are welcome aboard the Pegaso. On the beaches on this stretch of the Costa di Baunei, there is a ban on bringing animals to the beach, and as such, they will have to spend the day aboard the boat. It is absolutely mandatory for you to bring their lead with you.

Are the beaches fine sand? Does the water become deep immediately?

The beaches on the Gulf of Orosei all have a different shoreline composition. As for the places we will be stopping at, at Cala Luna you will find a mixture of fine sand and pebbles. At Cala Gabbiani and Cala Mariolu, you will find the chalky grit typical of Ispuligidenie. In any case, we recommend that anyone who has sensitive feet should bring rock or jelly shoes with them.

Can we travel with babies? Can we bring the pram/pushchair onto the beach?

The Pegaso is the perfect boat for families with children - even very young ones - thanks to the wide open spaces, toilet facilities and shaded lower deck, which means that you can get out of the sun whenever you want to during the journey. The seats are numbered and you will always find somewhere to sit during the mini cruise. It is best to leave any prams or pushchairs aboard the boat before going down to the beach, as there are no walkways in the coves.

Is there a limit to the baggage and beach gear we can bring aboard?

There is no limit to what you can bring aboard the Pegaso during your excursion. That said, please consider that the rules of common sense apply in this situation. We recommend that you travel light so that every stop on the beach doesn’t feel like moving house. You can bring your beach equipment and umbrellas with you.

Do children have to pay for a ticket?

We offer reductions for families with children. Up to the age of 3, children can come aboard for free. Between 4 and 10 years old, we offer reductions of up of 60% which vary according to the seasons.

Comfort starts from our ticket office
In addition to purchasing our services, you will also find exhibition areas in our ticket offices showcasing the finest handicrafts of Dorgali as well as excellent tips on how best to spend your holiday in Cala Gonone.
